St John the Baptist, Elkstones

Built in 1788, St John the Baptist at Elkstones contains the original box pews, the triple-decker pulpit, and what is (possibly!) the narrowest Altar in Christendom, all in a tiny but perfectly formed building.

It is worth seeking out in its position at the head of the valley, and a warm welcome awaits anyone who comes here to worship or to visit.
